Randy's Bio:
I was raised in the town of Scottdale, Pennsylvania and lived there till the ripe old age of 18. After finishing high school in 1971 I joined the Air Force with only one thing on my mind and that was to try to get to Alaska. My profession in the military was first as a Veterinary technician and later as a manager in the Public Health field. My AF assignments included tours in New Hampshire, Delaware, New York, Washington State and Alaska. I first arrived in Alaska in 1977 and immediately felt at home. I stayed as long as I could but had to leave in 1981 and didn’t return till 1987.
My 21 year career in the military ended in 1992 when I became a stay at home dad and supported my wife as she worked. It was at this time that I first ventured into the wildlife photography field mostly by accident. Some friends invited me on a trip to photograph brown bears at Katmai National Park and I was hooked! When showing my images to others I was constantly being asked for copies of my work and I thought………… ya know……I just might as well try to turn this into a business. My love of nature and photography soon gave way to having to learn how to matt and frame all my own photos in order to offer them at a competitive price. I am completely self taught in all areas of framing, matting and photography.
As my expertise grew so did my inventory of outstanding images. This is now taking up most of my available time but it is truly satisfying.
Please, enjoy your visit to my web site as you travel around Alaska with me. I hope you find the images stunning and that they make you smile as you enjoy the beauty this wonderful state can offer to all of us.
